Bishop Michael Begley Award

 
The Bishop Michael Begley Award is sponsored by the AOH Sons of Erin and is awarded to the Boy Scout Troop in the Charlotte Diocese that best demonstrates Duty to God, Community Service and Scouting Skills.
 
It is named in honor of the first bishop of the Diocese of Charlotte and fellow Irish American whose duty to God and service to the people of North Carolina should never be forgotten. Bishop Begley led the Diocese of Charlotte from 1972 until his retirement in 1984, and was known as a wonderful man and a friend to both young and old.
 
Submissions should be sent prior to April 15th of the current year to the Charlotte Diocese Catholic Committee on Scouting at CDCatholicScouting@gmail.com
